our Impact Projects

Improving Nutrition

Our Tropical Almond products make it easy to stay healthy! Our aim is to not only improve YOUR hair and skin health, but also the nutrition of Ghanaian families especially children in rural areas. For children, improved nutrition advances one of the most essential forms of infrastructure, brainpower. African nations lose between 1.9% and 16% of the gross domestic product annually to under-nutrition due to increased mortality, absenteeism, chronic illnesses, and lost productivity. The ripple effect of helping to improve nutrition for children and families is an increase in our country’s economic growth!

Encouraging Environmental Sustainability

Saving tree project: Our amazing aggregators travel around homes in Ghana collect Tropical Almond seeds that would have otherwise been thrown out. More than 50 % of established Tropical Almond trees have been cut down across Ghana because they aren't been of any value to home owners.  It Our aim is to reduce the amount of food that go to waste each year and also save these trees by bringing value to them.

In addition, by using Tropical Almonds, we promote water conservation. Did you know that Tropical Almonds can grow with little or no irrigation whiles almonds trees could require as much as 37 inches of water a year to grow? In California, almonds use up to 15% of the state’s irrigation water!

An Oil for a Meal Project

For every Abrofo-nkate oil purchased, Tropical Almond donates another Abrofo-nkate Mix to a child in a rural area of Ghana. The aim of this project is to improve nutrition for rural children whose families can not afford to provide them with a well-balanced diet. But we don’t want to stop at just one child, we want to be able to keep these meals coming to the children. Your purchase helps exactly with that!

1 out of 4 children die from malnutrition

There is a lot of evidence from the general view that childhood malnutrition directly affects the ability to function successfully in the world - Poor Economic (Financial Times/ Goldman Sachs Book of the year by Abhijit V. Banerjee & Esther Duflo)

Improving Living Standards

We employ marginalized people in our economy, such as the uneducated and widows, and provide them with an opportunity to choose and grow how much they earn. Our aim is to give people the opportunity to improve their living standards.
